On the weekend of December 9 yesterday, Panasonic announced their plans for expansion of the smartphone business to Europe. The plan will be realized in March 2012 with the release of Panasonic's first Android smartphone for the European market.
Panasonic's new Android smartphones will be said to have a super slim design with a touchscreen measuring 4.3 inches OLED QHD. In addition Panasonic also called Android smartphone has other advantages such as resistance to water and dust. Its production will be performed at the Panasonic factory in Malaysia.
By entering the smartphone business in the European market, Panasonic hopes to sell 1.5 million units Android smartphones in continental Europe in 2012. For the long term, in 2016, Panasonic targeting sales up to 15 million units for the entire phone product with 9 million units of which are smartphones.
